to my point of view, there are three key reasons that justify the reason why
students should attend a course on ethics.

First, it
can help students understanding the vulnerabilities of rationalization. A lot

is rooted in very poor reasoning, the course gives students the opportunity to

Second, students
have the opportunity to talk about ethics, morality, codes and beliefs. This
can have numerous constructive and helpful effects: make students more self-confident
speaking about issues that might be too difficult to approach; help students
understanding that not everyone shares their views on ethics, and that they
shouldn’t be so self-possessed; support the opportunity to enunciate their own
values and principles in a constructive way.

Lastly, expose
students to theoretical articles on ethics is exceptionally important because good
articles are meritoriously superior examples of sophisticated and vital
thinking skills. In other words, students who have contact with such first-rate
reasoning in the university face a better opportunity of being able to engage
in solid ethical reasoning in the future.

Summing
up, universities play an imperative role in developing the professional
identity of each student and should invest in developing graduates that are
capable of more than a simple response to change, but are adaptable and
transformative. Students need to be more than simple acquirers of prevailing
practices and must grow as serious agents. If a student wants to be a
meticulous professional one must be an introspective specialist, well conscious
of the rules of the community of practice, and to be critical moral agent moulding
the upcoming rules of that community. This requires a student to be vocal when
confronted with an ethical question and in order to be a critical expert, the
student must rely upon the capacity of being conscious, able to identify and
judge impartially an ethical issue.

As a
student of International Management, the role of ethics is much important for
me, particularly business ethics. In the future, business ethics will help me
building trust in the workplace, allowing me to open up to other employees and even
share private information. Additionally, acquiring the trust of the other employees
can boost my productivity by making it easier for me to communicate and work
with others in the workplace. Furthermore, gaining the trust of my managers can
also open doors for new responsibilities at work, possibly leading to
promotions. I think it is vital to illustrate to management students the
rewards of doing business ethically while still achieving
financial reward through different historical examples of people and enterprises
which were destroyed due to not doing the right thing. The key idea that should
be conveyed to a student in this area is that “Companies
should thrive due to living ethical principles”.
