Obtaining the rehabilitation process, as well as feeding and
Obtaining this scholarship will boost my confidence, knowing that I not only completed an important task, but also was able to take the responsibility of creating a foundation for getting me closer to my future career goals after college. I believe in the importance of earning a college degree. Therefore, I plan to work even harder to obtain a Bachelor’s in Biological Science degree in at Ohio University by the year 2022. This scholarship will certainly strengthen my opportunity to take on multiple college courses and programs which I may able to pay for due to my financial burden. The scholarship can push me further into my professional training and degree goals that I have set for myself and will in turn help me start a career as an zoo animal specialist. This Scholarship can also be used to help me pay for my courses this coming spring. Overall, this scholarship will help me achieve my current goal, move on to the next level and eventfully become a successful professional in the animal management field. I am very passionate about animals and how they can be useful for the discovery of unknown animals, traits, genetics, and illnesses in certain species. The zoo animal specialist’ position requires a strong understanding of behavioral patterns, reproductive requirements of animals, safety measures and precautions involved in the exhibition and care of animals. Zoo Animal Specialist also consult with the Zoo Veterinarian in determining animal diets and feeding requirements; administers medication for minor illnesses and injuries and assists in the treatment and care of sick animals; carries out animal propagation programs; observes and reports any unusual animal behavior or appearance. I am also engaging in a animal health class at Ellet High School and participating in animal volunteer programs to keep up with important information and technics. Although I am very committed to undertaking professional trainings to fulfill my goals, the expensive cost of some college courses as well as programs will hold me back from taking them. Five years from now I see myself employed at a zoo or veterinarian office; examining sick animals, aiding in the identification of different species, helping animals go through the rehabilitation process, as well as feeding and maintenance activities. I just feel grateful that I am given the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship to help fulfill my dream and I will prove that I have what it takes to not just only be a successful student, but an exceptional zoo animal specialist.
